Relief

The track in Phenchhane technically difficult, for this reason biathlete repeatedly committed in the fall, held here, World Cup 2007/08. Flat and sloping sites, as compared to other tracks, very little. Most of the distance - the sharp descents and steep slopes. Because of the positive air temperatures, snow on this trail praticheski not. All the snow is artificial, nastrelyannym of the special snow installations. That snow is a major and significantly impedes the sliding. Also, the wind on the road with seasoned sand, which creates additional difficulties.

Before the World Cup air temperature reaches +16 ° C, the snow quickly tayal. For this reason, part of the road was closed for training.

During the day before the start of competitions have been fears that the sprint race will be canceled or postponed, because route was unsuitable for full-fledged competition. But for one night organizing committee has managed to bring out of the track at 2000 cubic meters of snow and with the help of 500-600 people to distribute snow across the trail.
